Why

Slavery is the start of this war between whites and blacks. From the 16th century to the 18th, my people were beaten, raped and sold by whites in this very country because the color of their skin. Eventually, the rape, beating, and selling was outlawed, we were free, but not equal. The US was separate but not equal. Black people couldn't even use the same restrooms as whites, but all that changed in the 60's. The civil rights movement involved activists like MLK along with the millions of fellow black folks and others who wanted equality. We were beaten for wanting to be equal by our own neighbors, but that didn't stop us. We thought we were finally free and equal, but nahh.
